The Cost of
a Private School
Being
a private school has many distinct advantages; however, cost
is not one of them. Without any government or other
organizational funding, the expenses incurred with running a
school are passed on to those who have chosen to attend the
school. Although in the past Catholic schools in particular
were quite affordable, today's shortage of teaching nuns
results in larger salary expenses at our school and all
other Catholic schools as well.
Nonetheless, St. Gabriel Catholic School is a
purposeful ministry of the St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, and,
as such, receives much financial support from the parish.
This support is a result of a partnership between the
general parish community and the school. Being a registered,
active and tithing member of the St. Gabriel Parish entitles
your children to attend the school without paying tuition.
The tithing, 6.25% of your annual pre-tax income, is
considered a tax-deductible donation and it is tracked by
the parish office. The parish contributes to the school
budget a set amount for each tithing parishioners' child
attending the school.
Some families choose St. Gabriel School and
elect to pay tuition for their child's education. The
tuition fees and payment plans are as follows:
