Before and After School Childcare

The St. Gabriel Early Childhood Learning Center, ECLC, provides a well-managed care program for school-age children during times when school is not in session. The two programs in which a child can be enrolled are the Extended Daycare, providing before- and after-school care, and the Summer Safari, supervising children during the summer vacation months.

Extended Day is available on all school days from 7:00 a.m. until school begins at 8:00 a.m..

After school, from dismissal time at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., students are served snacks and adults supervise both homework and play time in a safe and secure environment. Rates are available for periodic care as well as full-time. Costs for the 2009-2010 school year are:

Full-time Care:

$45/week - morning and afternoon care

$40/week - afternoon care only

$12/week - morning care only

$5/day - noon dismissal (in addition to the regular weekly fee)

$17/day - No School days (in addition to the regular weekly fee)

Periodic Care:

$3/morning

$15/afternoon

$18/day - morning and afternoon

$20/day - noon dismissal

$25/day - No School day

The Summer Safari program provides many fun activities, both off-site and on-site, for the children to participate in while being supervised by adults. This day-long program, open from 7:00 a.m. (earlier if needed) until 6:00 p.m., begins the week after school is out and continues throughout the summer until the week school begins again. Some examples of activities included in the fees have been bowling, going to the movies, and swimming weekly at the pool next door. Additionally, hot lunches are available each day along with morning and afternoon snacks. Part-time rates are available when space allows and full-time children are afforded vacation credit.
