The task of educating
students at St. Gabriel School is greatly enhanced by strong
parent involvement in many areas. In fact, the parental
support in and around our school was cited as an important
asset during the accreditation process in the fall of 2005.
Our parents,
grandparents, aunts and uncles, volunteer in various ways
around the school, including:
- Helper/aide for classrooms, lunch
time, library and art
- Project coordinators for
student-created auction items
- Coaching volleyball, basketball and
track in the parochial league and other local
community-based leagues
- Committee members for various Parent
Teacher Exchange (PTE) fundraising events, including
annual events such as Spaghetti Dinner and Dinner/Auction
- Working once a month at weekly Bingo
fundraiser
- Attending (and really enjoying!)
annual spring dinner and auction sponsored by PTE
- Girl Scout and Boy Scout troop
leaders
- Leading Fundraising and Social Projects
St. Gabriel has a very
active Parent Teacher Exchange (PTE) program. The PTE meets
on the second Tuesday evening of every month at the school
to discuss ways to fundraise and improve the school. All
parents of children attending St. Gabriel School are
encouraged to participate in the PTE as this program has
helped the school to obtain, among other things, books,
air-conditioning, playground and computer equipment.
